Samaritan Center & Second Place East Programs
In 2009, in order to more efficiently and effectively provide assistance to individuals and families in crisis, Catholic Charities co-located its emergency services creating a one-stop shop model of service delivery. Each person requesting assistance meets with a Case Manager to complete an assessment of needs, receives guidance and support, and is referred for assistance within the Emergency Services Center as well as other resources and services in the community leading to long-term solutions.
Within the Center, Second Place East Homeless Services offers homeless prevention programs providing rent and utilities assistance and emergency services including housing for homeless and at risk individuals and families. The Samaritan Center program provides emergency services including food, clothing, prescription medications, assistance with food stamps enrollment, health insurance and Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) applications.
The Samaritan Center located at 380 S. Main St. Elmira, NY.
